Bio

To take someone on a journey, transport them to a moment in time, and stir a memory of a favorite place or thing is what drives me as an artist.

The Subject matter that i choose are those people, places, and things that are grounded in reality and yet painted in a loose Impressionistic style. I prefer the painterly approach, because i am trying to capture the mood of a moment rather than recording a scene with photographic realism.
Painting with oils offers me the best opportunity to express myself spontaneously with loose, rich, buttery brush strokes. A limited palette of six to seven colors brings harmony to each piece.
I believe that viewers are most interested in my work because they recognize the places and relate with the people in the scenes but enjoy the stylistic approach that enriches these common everyday experiences.
